Hi-Micro project proposes an innovative process chain for precision micro injection moulding (μIM) and micro powder injection moulding (μPIM) and the consortium is devoted to following research aspects to bring forward breakthroughs.
  1. using Additive Manufacturing (AM) to produce monolithic tool inserts with integrated complex internal channels for efficient thermal management and process control
  2. developing enabling precision manufacturing technologies to post-process the tool insert features
  3. applying special metrology techniques based on computer-tomography (CT) to control the quality of the integrated complex internal channels
  4. developing handling system and high-speed in-line quality control system for non-statistic quality control and integrating it into an industrial production platform
